Congratulations to Baltimore, MD welterweight Malik "Iceman" Hawkins who won a 10-round unanimous decision over veteran Raymond "Tito" Serrano of Philadelphia, PA to capture the NABA-USA Welterweight title Friday night at the Fillmore in Philadelphia.
Hawkins was the aggressor throughout the contest as he came forward and outworked the smaller Serrano. The hometown boxer Serrano kept things close at times as he battled back in the bout but Hawkins was more active and threw the harder blows. Hawkins won by scores of 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94. Hawkins remains undefeated and now has a record of 13-0, nine KO's. Serrano falls to 24-5, 10 KO's.
