Undefeated Upper Marlboro, MD lightweight Lamont Roach, Jr. returns to action on Friday, September 2 at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
Roach (11-0, three KO's) will take on his most experienced foe to date when he battles Mario Macias Rorozco of Iztacalco, Distrito Federal, Mexico in an eight-round encounter. Roach is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision win over Jose Arturo Esquivel on May 7 in Las Vegas, NV. Rorozco (28-19, 14 KO's) competes against a Beltway Boxer for the second straight time. Rorozco suffered a first-round knockout at the hands of Gervonta Davis on June 3 in Hollywood, FL.
By the way, there is some great press on Roach as he is featured in the "New Faces" section of the latest issue (November 2016) of the Ring magazine. Mitch Abramson has a nice profile of the 2014 Beltway Boxing Rookie of the Year. The cover story of the Ring celebrates the 60th birthday of Hall of Famer, six-time world champion and Beltway Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard. Leonard was chosen by the magazine as the all-time greatest living boxer.
