'Spartan' Marin Challenges For Vacant IBO International Bantamweight Title June 11 In Springfield, VA!

Silver Spring, MD bantamweight Alexandru "Spartan" Marin will take the biggest challenge of his young career when he takes on Johnny "The Law" Determan of Dallas, TX in a 10-round bout for the vacant International Boxing Organization International Bantamweight title on Saturday, June 11 at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.

The undefeated Marin, a native of Iasi, Romania (11-0, eight KO's) is coming off a third-round knockout win over Miguel Del Valle on March 5 in Norfolk, VA.  Determan (10-1, eight KO's) will try to bounce back from his first loss, a six-round unanimous decision to Oscar Mojica on January 16 in Dallas.

Both men have never gone past 10 rounds and both will take steps up in competition.

Other bouts have been signed for this Ponytail Promotions/Sho Nuff Promotions card.  Undefeated Leesburg, VA lightweight Eric "El Torito" Hernandez will battle veteran Terrence "T-Brick" Roy of Covington, TN in a six-round bout.  Hernandez (7-0, four KO's) last fought on the March 5 card in Norfolk and won a fifth-round technical decision over Darrell Jones.  Hernandez suffered an eye injury in that bout and Jones was originally awarded the victory. However, the Virginia Commission overturned the decision and gave the win to Hernandez.

Roy (11-50, two KO's) has lost six straight bouts, all by knockout.  Roy will face a Beltway Boxer for the fourth time in his career.  Roy has lost by knockout to Thomas Snow, Ty Barnett and former world champion Eric Aiken.  Roy fought Aiken twice, losing a six-round unanimous decision in their first outing.

Ashburn, VA lightweight Seth "Killer B" Billups returns to action in a six-round encounter against the aforementioned Darrell Jones of Jacksonville, FL.  Billups (8-0, six KO's) will go into the six-rounders for the first time in his career as he comes off a four-round unanimous decision over Corey McCants on March 5 in Norfolk.  Jones (3-16-1, one KO) has fought once since the loss to Hernandez and lost by first-round TKO to Boubacar Sylla on April 23 in New Cumberland, WVA.

In light heavyweight action, Mario "Bazooka" Flores will be in a four-round contest against veteran Greg Hackett of Philadelphia, PA.  Flores (6-1-2, four KO's) returns to action for the first time since winning a four-round split decision over Marcellus Yates in October of 2014 in Fort Washington, MD.  Hackett (2-15-1) also returns after a long absence, competing for the first time since battling Issa Coulibaly to a four-round majority draw in May of 2014 in Washington, DC.

Rookie Seat Pleasant, MD featherweight James "Too Slick" Early makes a quick return to action when he faces Alan Beeman of Providence, RI in a four-round bout.  Early just fought on May 14 and won a four-round unanimous decision over Tyshae Ferguson in Timonium, MD.  Beeman (0-12) has lost his last seven contests by knockout including a third-round TKO to Marq Johns on April 9 at the ABC Sports Complex.

Other boxers slated to be on this card are heavyweights Mike Balogun and Jerry Forrest and lightweight Matthew Abregu.
