For the second straight year, the DC region has failed to bring home a championship from the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions.
One local boxer advanced to the finals of the event, held in Salt Lake City, UT. Troy Isley fought in the finals of the 165-Pound division but lost a 5-0 decision to Isiah Jones of Detroit, MI in the championship bout on Saturday.
Nicholas Sullivan of Portsmouth, VA won the Sportsmanship Award in the 132-Pound class.
