Adam Bloom, Former Baltimore Heavyweight, Passes At 46!

Sad news to report.  Former Baltimore, MD heavyweight Adam "Boom Boom" Bloom passed away on May 18. Bloom was 46 years old.  Reportedly, Bloom suffered a blood clot in his leg that spread to his heart.

Bloom competed for a two-year stint as a pro boxer, winning all five of his bouts with four knockouts from 2005-2007. After leaving the sport, Bloom entered the business world and became a successful co-owner of McAvoy's, a popular bar and grill in Parkville, MD.

We are hearing that friends and family of Bloom will gather at McAvoy's, located at 2531 Putty Hill Avenue, on Saturday, May 28 for a tribute that will begin at 9 PM.

BATB sends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of a man who was very instrumental in the early popularity of this very blog.  Bloom was a fun boxer to watch during his short time in the ring and a nice man as well.
