Beltway Boxers Advance To Quarterfinals Of Olympic Trials Qualifier!

Three Beltway Boxers have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Olympic Trials Qualifier in Colorado Springs, CO.

Gary Antuanne Russell of Capitol Heights, MD moved into the quarters of the 141-pound division with a 3-0 win over Abraham Nova of Albany, NY.  Russell will face Richardson Hutchins of Brooklyn, NY on Thursday.

In the Female 132-pound division, Millersville, MD's Amelia Moore made her debut in the trials successful with a 3-0 decision win over Ashleigh Moore of Buzzards Bay, MA.  Moore will battle with Dalia Gomez of Oakland, CA in today's quarters.

In the Male 132-pound division, Jalonte Cole of Burke, VA advanced with a 3-0 victory over Giezwa Hobbs of Woodbury, MN.  Cole moves on to battle Adam Castillo of Lubbock, TX today.

Multi-time national amateur champion Franchon Crews of Baltimore, MD also makes her first appearance today in the Female 165 pound division as she takes on Tika Hemingway of Brackenridge, PA.

Also on Wednesday, Jordon Payne of Hyattsville, MD lost his second-round contest at 165 pounds by a 3-0 decision to Trevor Lattimore of Bridgeport, CT while Nigel Fennell of Salisbury, MD lost his bout at 152 pounds to Julian Smith of Robbins, IL by a 2-1 decision.
