Results From Constitution Hall!

There were a number of solid knockout performances during the All-In Entertainment card Saturday night at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

In the main event, DC welterweight Dusty Hernandez Harrison thrilled the hometown crowd by scoring a crushing first-round knockout over Michael Clark of Columbus, OH.  Harrison used a solid jab to set up a right that caught Clark on the top of the head and sent him tumbling backward to the canvas.  Clark could not beat referee Joe Cooper's count and the bout was stopped at 1:40.

Harrison is now 24-0, 13 KO's while Clark falls to 44-12-1, 18 KO's.

In the co-feature, junior middleweight "Swift" Jarrett Hurd of Accokeek, MD landed a solid right hand of his own to knockout out Terry Cade of Aiken, SC in the first round.  Much like Harrison, Hurd used patience and a solid left jab to set up a brutal right hand that sent Cade to the canvas with his right leg buckled underneath him Referee Mark D'Atillio counted to 10 and the bout was over at 2:39.

Hurd remains undefeated at 13-0, eight KO's while Cade drops to 4-7-1, two KO's.

Also on the card, "The Pride of Alexandria" Brandon Quarles used a series of crushing body shots to stop Dennis Sharpe of Bayonne, NJ at 2:54 of the fourth round.  Quarles showed solid power as he repeatedly went to Sharpe's body.  Sharpe took a knee three times before the contest was halted by referee Mark D'Atillio.

Quarles is now 14-3-1, six KO's while Sharpe drops to 17-15-3, four KO's.

In heavyweight action, Laurel, MD's "The Big Ticket" Dwayne McRae eeked out a six-round majority decision over Grover Young of Memphis, TN.  McRae started the bout by using his jab to keep Young away.  However, Young managed to get inside and work on McRae to the body and the head.  In the second half of the bout, McRae managed to do enough damage to Young inside to pull out the bout.

Judge Wayne Smith saw the draw at 57-57 but he was overruled by judges Manuel Vinson and Lloyd Scaife who scored the bout 59-55 and 58-56 respectively.

McRae raises his record to 15-3, eight KO's while Young drops to 8-14, five KO's.

Rookie lightweight Mykal "The Professor" Fox of Forestville, MD looked dominant in a four-round unanimous decision win over veteran Sean Lockhart of Columbia, SC.  Fox used a powerful jab and followed up with right hands to keep Lockhart at bay.  Lockhart managed to avoid getting knocked down in the contest but all three judges (Scaife, Vinson and Smith) scored the bout 40-35.

Fox remains undefeated at 4-0, one KO.  Lockhart's record falls to 5-24-2, two KO's.

DC lightweight Joshua "Dynamite" Davis stopped John Wampash of Quito, Ecuador at 55 seconds of the third round.  Davis started slowly but managed to break Wampash down throughout the contest, finally sealing the deal in the third round with a wicked body shot that sent Wampash to the canvas to stay.

Davis is 8-1, four KO's while Wampash is 1-9-3, one KO.

The opening contest saw Emanuel "Jab" Johnson of Brandywine, MD stop the debuting Patrick Chaffin of Memphis, TN in the first round.  Johnson overwhelmed Chaffin throughout the short contest as Chaffin could not throw any punches back.  The bout was stopped by referee Vic DeWysocki at 1:39.  Johnson is now 3-0 with his first pro knockout.

Numerous luminaries were in attendance at the card including DC Mayor Vincent Gray and several members of the DC City Council. Among the boxing stars in attendance was heavyweight contender Bryant "Bye-Bye" Jennings.  DC heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson provided color commentary on the GoFightLive internet broadcast with Marc Abrams and myself.

Actually it's By-By Jennings. Not Bye-Bye. I'm still trying to figure out why...
