Jeter Defends WBC Fecabox Title; Wilson Captures UBF All-Americas Title in Springfield!

We have results from the Jeter Promotions/RBA Promotions card at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.  For the knockdowns, we do not have times.

Tony "Mo Better" Jeter of Stevensville, MD successfully defended his WBC Fecarbox Middleweight championship with a first-round TKO of Guillermo "Bald" Valdes of Miami, FL.  Jeter makes the second successful defense of his title and bounces back from his second-round TKO loss to Patrick Nielsen in February.   Jeter is now 17-4-1, 12 KO's.  Valdes falls to 12-6, three KO's.

Alexandria, VA junior welterweight Todd "White Lightning" Wilson captured the vacant UBF All-Americas Junior Welterweight championship with a second-round TKO over Marlon Lewis of Memphis, TN.  Wilson remains undefeated at 16-0, five KO's while Lewis drops to 6-4-2, three KO's.

"The Pride of Alexandria" Brandon Quarles won a six-round unanimous decision over Norman "The Shadow" Allen of Laurel, MD in a middleweight contest.  Quarles is 13-2-1, six KO's while Allen drops to 6-11, three KO's.

For the first time in his young pro career, Bowie, MD super middleweight "The King's Son" Jerry Odom went the distance in a bout.  Odom remained undefeated with a fourth-round unanimous decision over Edgar Perez of Chicago, IL.  Odom, ranked #15 by the WBA, is now 11-0, 10 KO's.  Perez falls to 5-9, three KO's.

Lanham, MD junior welterweight "The Baby-Faced Assassin" Yurii Polischuk won a four-round unanimous decision over Benjamin "Wildcat" Olinga of DC.  Polischuk is now 4-1-1, two KO's while Olinga drops to 1-5.

Bobby Gunn, Jr. of Hackensack, NJ scored a first-round TKO in a junior middleweight contest against the debuting Gabriel Smallwood of Dover, DE.  Gunn is now 2-0, two KO's.

Heavyweight Jean Pierre Augustin of Lawrence, MA scored his first pro knockout with a first-round TKO of debuting Joseph Bowman of North Carolina.  Augustin is now 3-0, one KO.

I love how the UBF is giving these prospects a chance of a championship minus the politics.

Great organization, awesome article.

Let's see tony fight a decent local opponent in his next fight on June 14 like Jessie Nicklow, Henry Buchanan, Mike Paschall, Antoine Douglas, or Brandon Quarles

Gary Digital Williams said...

Buchanan and Paschall are light heavyweights so take them out of the equation.

I want Jeter. -CUJO-

Let's see it. Cujo-Jeter in the fall if they both win there June fights. Jeter better not coward out of this one, considering how much smack he talks.

It was a sad evening of so called championship boxing
Jeters guy was about 20 pounds lighter than Jeter and wilsons
opponent could have been blown away buy a strong wind.
However the Quarles VS Allen
fight made the show bearable.
Quqrles was in trouble several times but to his credit he hung in there and fought back even harder. The Russian Kid was kinda worth the money but needs to step up the competition. All in all the show was 50-50
And oh yea two guys from the same gym fought each other/you be the judge.

Valdes hadn't won a fight in 11 years... He last won in 2003!

Quarles has a new team?

Tony Jeter beat a 41 year old guy who had lost his last 4 fights in a row by knockout, who was stopped in 3 out of 4 of these bouts in the 1st or 2nd round, who had never weighed more than 145 pounds in any of these bouts and who moved up two weight classes to compete against Jeter at 160, who had not won a bout in over 11 and a half years, and whose nickname is "bald" (not "bad").

I hope Brian Dillon did not have anything to do with matchingJeter's fight. if he did he should be ashamed of himself.

Gary Digital Williams said...

Dillon had nothing to do with this bout.

Where can we buy tickets for Torri Nelson on May 17th?

Anonymous said...

Gary what are your thoughts on a possible Jeter-Sigmon fight as well as Buchanan-Williams Jr fight that sugarpoo really wants

Gary Digital Williams said...

To buy Tori Nelson tickets, go to www.ponytailpromotion.com.

Neither fight makes sense unless titles are on the line. They are potentially great bouts for the area. Jeyer-Sigmon would seem more likely because a Williams-Buchanan bout would be too much of a risk for Williams without a lot of reward.

Williams fighting Buchanan would be pointless.

Gary Digital Williams said...

No I really can't. Unless it pertains to the DC/MD/VA area, there is no interest. This blog deals with boxing only in the Beltway region.

Gary: Did Tony Jeter's opponent demonstrate any skills in the one round that he fought? Was he the same weight, or similar in weight, as compared to Tony? Was it a competitive fight until he was knocked out?

Gary Digital Williams said...

I was not at the bout. As my previous post said, I was announcing a women's pro football game.

Both fights would be for titles. Jeter-Sigmon for Jeter's WBC Fecarbox belt and Williams-Buchanan for Williams WBO NABO belt.

Gary - Was Jerome at the Jeter fight? What did he think?

Gary Digital Williams said...

No he wasn't.

How bout Sigmon vs Buchanan at 168? They would talk shit and sell a ton of tickets
