'Unbelievable' Neequaye Participates In ESPN2 Boxcino Lightweight Tournament February 21!

Once again, the Beltway will have back-to-back boxers appear on national television.  We've already talked about Emmanuel Taylor's bout versus Chris Algieri on Friday, February 14 on ESPN2.

We also have a transplanted local boxer that will be a part of ESPN2's eight-man Boxcino lightweight tournament.  That boxer is undefeated NABA Lightweight champion Samuel "Unbelievable" Neequaye, a native of Accra, Ghana who now fights out of DC. Neequaye is trained by local trainer Zeke Thompson.

Neequaye (21-0, 15 KO's) will face Fernando Carcamo of Mexico (15-5, 12 KO's) in a six-round contest on Friday, February 21 at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV.  Neequaye won the NABA title in his last outing, winning a 10-round unanimous decision over Dorin Spivey on August 30 in Newark, DE.  Carcamo is coming off a second-round TKO of Sergio Rivera on December 20 in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico.

The winners of the first-round matchups advance to the semi-finals on Friday, March 28 at the 4 Bears Casino in New Town, North Dakota.  The finals will be held on Friday, May 23 at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.  There is also an eight-man middleweight Boxcino tournament as well.  Banner Promotions is promoting both tourneys.
