Two Beltway Boxers have won unanimous decisions tonight at the Richard Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ.
Dusty Hernandez Harrison of DC won a workmanlike eight-round unanimous decision over Philadelphia, PA's Tim Witherspoon, Jr. in a televised (ESPN2) bout. Harrison's shots to the body and overall work rate seemed to be the difference in the contest. Harrison won by a score of 78-74 on all three scorecards.
Harrison is now 20-0, 11 KO's. Witherspoon falls to 10-4-1, two KO's.
On the undercard, undefeated Baltimore, MD middleweight Cecil McCalla captured a six-round unanimous decision over Eric "Murder" Mitchell of Vero Beach, FL. McCalla controlled the bout down the stretch, according to reports and won by tallies of 58-56, 59-55 and 60-54.
McCalla is now 17-0, six KO's while Mitchell is now 23-11-1, 11 KO's.

Buddy would kick Tim Sr.'s old punch drunk ass. Tim and his bum ass son will never be heard from again.
If you really believe buddy is capable of beating Tim Sr then you are as stupid and ignorant as buddy looked. Dusty won and was good, the extra stuff was not necessary for him, neither was the dirty fouls. I like Dusty and want to see him go all the way but he doesn't need the dirty fouls, it makes him look bad. My opinion!

I must have missed the dirty stuff I saw an over matched Witherspoon falling all over Dusty and Dusty creating room with his elbows, arms, and sometimes head.
He looked like a dog in this fight and his demeanor in the ring was very impressive. As for the after fight activities I saw a father (Witherspoon) cross the line, and Buddy did what he should have done, intervene!
I heard Buddy grabbed Tim's man meat and that caused the ruckus. Do you known any information on this Mr Gary? I heard Buddy has done this before.
Dusty looked real good, he looked real strong and imposed his will on Tim Jr. Took some shots, but that may have more do with Tim Jr having nothing in return and team Harrison decided to stay in side. Great body work. As for after the bell, buddy did some thing all fathers should do. Good for him for getting involved when someone had his son by the wrist.
I must admit, they always have exciting fights. Hate him or love him, but they tune in to watch. People love to watch sick m/f ers. Ratings were probably sky high.
Lots of talk on here. Gary, can you please research this and tell us what, exactly, happened after the fight? Can you please talk to other reporters who were there and tell us what they saw or heard? I saw on Youtube that Tim Witherspoon, sr. started it be having choice words for Dusty who was being honorable by going over and shaking hands in his opponent's corner. Looks to me like Big Tim crossed the line first. The Youtube feeds stops and starts again at one point, so I could not see everything that happened.
What I have been told is that Witherspoon, Sr. cursed at Dusty after the bout and Buddy stood up for his son.
Tim Sr. Is down low. My cousin Dalonte had a three year relationship with him. Tim acts hard, but he is a bottom. My cousin is a power top. Real talk. Never gets topped from the bottom.
Buddy handled himself like a true professional. I was there at the fight to support team dusty. We spoke to Tim Witherspoon Sr before and after the fight he is a good guy just passionate about his kid. After the fight he approached me and my partner and apologize for making the dumb racial comment that he made about dusty. There was a lot at stake for both fighters. Dusty was clearly the better fighter . Dusty crushed Lil Tim's dreams last night. Jeff and team DUSTY ARE ON THE MOVE....
I specifically spoke to dusty about the incident after the bell! When Dusty went to show respect to Tims dad after the fight, Tims dad started to curse at him calling him a dirty fucking fighter. Dusty told him he didn't want to hear his excuses. Tims dad told him him Fuck you then started hollering at Buddy. Thats when Big Tim got into the ring and started going at Buddie, both said past rated R comments. This is why the sound went out bc of all the foul, horrendous language lol
Lil Tim's dreams have been crushed a Loooooooong time ago.
His damn father taught him street fighting moves. He seems like a nice kid but he is an animal in the ring and does anything to win. Very unfair to the ones who go by the rules. Most kids are not taught street fighting at the age of 2. They both need to be banned from boxing. UFC fits them better. They could be Tag-Team stars. Yeah he's 20-0 but he has elbowed, head-butted, low blows, hit after the bell, bumped heads during face offs. Ban the both from boxing.

It's apparent you have never boxed or trained a fighter. Creating space with elbows, arms, and head is something every boxer should learn.
Tim was panicking and was not prepared for how strong Dusty is. When Dusty started walking through him he lost his composure and tried to smother Dusty by falling on him. It was a case of experience, he didn't know to take angles to keep Dusty off him.
Dusty has never really impressed me before, but I came away very impressed with what I saw, because he showed a boxing IQ that not many possess at that stage in their career.
Why is he fighting in other fighters home-town. I seen he was in the blue corner. Lucky he won most rounds big. If not, he would have had an L on his resume. He need to stay away from other guys back yard.

Harrison needs to switch to MMA or UFC. His father has instructed him to win at all cost. I would not be surprised if he were to take a chunk out of Witherspoon's ear. Are they testing this young man for steroids? Are they inspecting his gloves? DC guys are known for steroids, tampered gloves, illegal hand-wrapping, etc.. Just recently Gary Russell's gloves have been in question. I thought about just copy and pasting a previous Gary Russell Jr. recap and changing the name to “Miguel Tamayo” where necessary, but then in round four he finally exploded, stopping his overmatched opponent rather than carrying him to a decision win like in recent fights.

Harrison, Russell, Peterson, all who have fought recently need to be closely watched. I would not be surprised if all attend the very same doctor.

Just saw the fight. Dusty beat, muscled, bullied, and dominated a frail Tim Witherspoon. Anybody that has a problem with that should pick another sport... I loved it!

Hailing from Fort Washington, Md., near Washington, D.C., Williams was floored between between the two knockdowns he scored against White.

"The beltway definitely showcased its best talent. Thomas was our Prospect Of The Year for 2012, and Hernandez-Harrison was our Prospect Of The Year for 2013," said boxing sage Gary Williams, who has covered the sport for years on his website Boxing Along The Beltway.
"Gary Russell is one step away from a title shot, and he just has to play his cards right. Peterson was as good as he has ever been that night, completely controlled that fight. When Peterson went to another level, Jean couldn't follow. These are the best guys that we have right now."
