Washington Times Profiles William Joppy -- The Budding Marathon Runner!

We've told you about what former three-time WBA Middleweight champion William Joppy has done since finishing his boxing career in March of 2011.  This includes his successful Breakfast With Boxers program.

Now, Thom Loverro, a recent returnee to the Washington Times, has written a nice column on Joppy and his newest endeavor -- marathon running.  Joppy's goal is to participate in the next New York Marathon on November 3.

Here's a link to the story:

You're right. I never got my brain beat in by a skinny Puerto Rican, my car repoed, or sold bootleg cd's like a flat faced punch drunk retard,so not much I guess.

You also never won three world titles as Joppy is one of only four men in Beltway Boxing history (Sugar Ray Leonard, Simon Brown, Mark Johnson, Joppy)to do that!

Joppy also recieved many things from Felix Trinidad...bruised ribs, a sore jaw, stitches...the only two things he didn't get were a blck eye and swollen lip. He should also be credited for running his first marathon during his fight with Jermain Taylor!
