Beltway Amateurs Return From Ireland!

The 10-member group and the chaperones have returned from Belfast, Northern Ireland after participating in the Belfast-Beltway Boxing Classic this past Saturday.  The Beltway Boxers faced a tough group of Irish boxers who won six of the nine bouts held that evening.

Jalen Jones won his 61 KG (135 Pounds) contest by unanimous decision over Michael Ward.  Troy Isley defeated Conor Burns by second-round TKO in a 60 KG (132 pounds) bout.  Also, Deonte Washington won a unanimous decision over John McGuigan in a 66 KG (145 pounds) contest.

Irish boxers won the other contests on the card.  At 54 KG (119 Pounds), Calon McAlorum defeated Nico Woods by unanimous decision.  Also at 54 KG, Brian McAlister won a unanimous decision over Hakeem Middleton.

At 48 KG (106 Pounds), Gordon Chambers won a unanimous decision over Jahmel Smith while James McGivern defeated Da'Nardo Smith by unanimous decision at 57 KG (126 Pounds).

The closest contest seemed to be at 64 KG (141 Pounds) as Gerard Matthews won a split decision over Jalonte Cole.  Paul Donelly of the UK team closed the card with a unanimous decision victory over Adam Mitchell at 69 KG (152 Pounds)

The card opened with a sparring session between Marcus Willis of DC and Seamus McAlister of Ireland.  Willis, unfortunately, did not make weight for this contest.

Thanks to Brent Bovell for the complete results for this card.
