Salisbury, MD Card Rounds Into Shape!

We have more information about the Jake The Snake Promotions card on Friday, April 12 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, MD.

The main event still includes undefeated Salisbury cruiserweight Alex Guerrero (8-0-1, five KO's) who will face Terrence "T-Rex" Smith of Oklahoma City, OK (8-14-2, five KO's) in an eight-round contest.  Guerrero has a three-bout knockout streak including his last outing -- a fifth-round TKO over veteran Harvey Jolly on September 15 in Duluth, GA.  Smith is coming off a third-round stoppage loss to Philip Jackson Benson on December 8 at the Washington Convention Center.

The co-feature matches Norfolk, VA super middleweight Frankie "The Freight Train" Filippone against Marcus Clay of Baton Rouge, LA in a six-round contest.  Filippone (13-2-1, two KO's) has won four in a row including a 10-round unanimous decision over Kevin Engel for the interim NABA light heavyweight title on February 8 in Wilmington, DE.  Clay (2-4) lost a four-round majority decision to Todd Manuel on February 16 in Opelousas, LA.  Clay has fought twice in the Beltway area, suffering a no-contest against Jerry Odom and he was stopped by Immanuwel Aleem.

As previously reported, undefeated Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight Duane Mobley will battle Baltimore veteran Lonnie Kornegay in a four-round contest.  Mobley, the 2012 Beltway Boxing Rookie of the Year at the age of 38 years old (7-0, four KO's) won his last bout by disqualification over DeAndre McCole on December 1 in Norfolk, VA.  Kornegay (1-8) will be trying to break a four-bout losing streak.

The card will mark the debut of former Penn State University boxer, AJ "We Are" Williams, now fighting out of Baltimore.  Williams, a 6'4" middleweight, was the captain of the Penn State boxing team and won a bronze medal at the 2010 National Collegiate Boxing Association Tournament.  Williams will take on DC's Issa Coulibaly (0-4) in a four-round contest.

Also slated to be on the card in separate contests are Salisbury's Damont Giddens and DC's Hugh Hinds.
