Lange to Face Jeter June 23rd at The Patriot Center!

They are two of the most talked-about Beltway Boxers in recent memory.  Whether you like them or don't like them, no one should deny that they have given local boxing fans some great memories.  Now, Beltway Boxing fans will have an opportunity to see what will happen when one fan favorite battles another in a contest that will surely generate a lot of conversation.

Great Falls, VA middleweight Jimmy Lange will take on Stevensville, MD's Tony "Mo Better" Jeter in a 10-round main event on Saturday, June 23 at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA.

This will be the 15th consecutive card that Lange (38-4-2, 25 KO's) has headlined at the Patriot Center.  Lange has a record of 11-2-1 at the Patriot Center and he has won his last seven bouts there and captured two regional titles along the way. Lange registered the BATB Knockout of the Year in 2010 with a 10th-round knockout of Joe Wyatt.

Jeter (13-3-1, nine KO's) has been very successful at the Patriot Center scoring the BATB Knockout of the Year in 2009 with a devastating first-round knockout of Keith Gross in September of that year.  Jeter last fought on February 25 and avenged his loss to Jose Felix with an eight-round unanimous decision in Millersville, MD.  Jeter regained the USBU (United States Boxing Union) Middleweight title and captured the UBO (United Boxing Organization) crown on that evening.

This will be the first time Jeter has been scheduled to go 10-rounds in his pro career, something Lange has done six times in his career (along with three times going 12 rounds).   Both men have a common opponent in Mike McFail.  Lange beat McFail twice by six-round unanimous decision, Jeter also captured a six-round decision.

Also slated to be on this card are two-belt women's world champion Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson (6-0-1) of Ashburn, VA, undefeated Fairfax, VA junior welterweight Todd "White Lightning" Wilson (13-0, three KO's),  Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight Duane Mobley (1-0) as well as "The Beltway Boricua" Dusty Harrison (5-0, two KO's) who will be eligible for a Virginia License since he turns 18 in May.

More information on this card as it becomes available.  Tickets are slated to go on sale this Friday at these prices: $35, $50, $75, $125, $200, $300 and $500.  Tickets are being sold through Ticketmaster and at the Patriot Center box office.,

you're right. both guys have given me great memories! my favorite memory of toni jeter was getting knocked completely f/n unconscious by james shedrick back in the day! knockout of the entire existence of life on earth! bed wetter was so concussed that he was trying to fight chrissy middendorf in the back. i remember toni (yes I know that is the feminine spelling of his name and it fits) jeter yelling at chrissy saying, "you set me up you fag, you set me up!" jeter, you picked the wrong hombre if you think any bullshit right hand of yours is going to do the trick. i can't wait for the butchering! let the destruction begin! "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!"

I have not seen Jimmy's last two or three fights, but he is bigger, stronger, hits harder, has more experience, more skill and more heart than Jeter.Plus he will have the majority of the crowd and an obvious home ring advantage. I assume that Jeter is being paid very well for this fight as he has been careful in his choice of opponents for the most part. When he gets knocked out, I would think that he would take his nice purse and retire gracefully. There is no need to keep getting your head bashed anymore Tony.

Tony will give his all in this fight and Jimmy is two punches away from being on his heels. Not sure why so many people hate Tony, but the guy gives an honest effort in the ring and you cannot ask for more. Actually, you have two decent guys who are club fighters facing off in the perfect area.

Let's hope for a good fight and that Joe Pooper, yes, Joe Pooper is not the ref!!

This fight is what this area needs. Two guys stepping up to the plate and i hear its gonna be a fight!!

I just don't believe Jeter will really show up for this. He will be embarassed infront of a lot of people if he does.

Gary Digital Williams said...

That would be a major surprise. I've talked to Jeter and he is indeed pumped for this one.

This will be Beltway Bout and Card of the Year - maybe Knockout of Year too.

Let's not make Lange out to be a killer. You can criticize Jeter's losses and who he's fought, but it's not like Jimmy Lange traveled the world beating the best guys out there.

Lange too has been knocked out and also hand-picked some of his opponents (including an ancient Joe Wyatt, who he rallied to stop).

May the best man win!

Joe Wyatt let Lange win.
Thats what he was paid to do.
Like so many others.

Good entertainment! And after all isn't that what we are here for.I pick JL in a wash.Jimmy is number 1 and Tony 2 as far as most hated in the area. But the haters make me sick.Get of your couch, put the pipe down, and do something positive instead of being jealous little c@nts!

What Champion did they beat to get these world titles? there tiles are phony!

Johnny Sample said...

About as phony as your playa hating comments when were you ever successful at anything these fighters have fans who LOVE to see them fight and they SUPPORT them which is why this area has been so negative in recent yeatrs because of people like you ,You not going to buy a ticket,so you want to hate,I bet you hate on every team or athelete in the area because you could never pass Gym class,so keep your negative attitude to yourself and try I said try to give our local guys a little love

i'm just wondering what lange is thinking by making a fight with jeter? it's not a hard fight for lange, that's not what i'm saying. if you look at jimmys last few fights he fought a guy from texas and three guys from indiana. i'm surprised they're fighting someone local. i guess they're completely confident that lange will win, and they are right about that. i'm just curious as to why they're fighting someone local. interesting.

Anonymous said...

he's fighting someone local because thats where a deal could be made.
Unless you understand the busniess
you wouldn't know whats happening here. It has happened so much with
Lange that it really is starting
to make me sick to my stomach.
It's a busniess and pappa Lange isn't going to take any chances
right now,(again)

You say unless you understand the business explain your credentials in the business, when did you last promote a show or make matches for a show or put up money for a show tell us how you know so much about the business when your expertise comes from readind ring magazine and looking at ESPN

Anonymous said...

Manny Taylor vs. Todd Wilson would be a good fight !

Brian said...

I have a question? Why on this blog when someone states an opinion, people ask "What are your credentials"? Puzzlingi

Brian said...

Oh yeah I think Jeter has a chance to get him early. If it goes late it will be a barn burner! Every time though, I thought Lange may have trouble he has won, So I will hold off on a prediction.

Jeter backs out of fighting Shah but takes on Lange??? Okk know where this one is headed. Easy win for Jimmy, good payday for Jeter, better than Shah for sure...win/win for all involved. Superb matchmaking!!! Lol honestly can't wait for the new generation of beltway fighter to come up because the old one has been sticking around for wayyy to long with mediocrity.

Cujo loses to Pavlik. Lange beats Jeter. Lange beats Pavlik. Lange gets shot at major belt. This is how it's going to go.

Anonymous said...

IF (big if) IF tony even shows up. He's going to try to pull some shit with those guys prior to the fight.

Gary Digital Williams said...

There's a major problem with the Cujo-Pavlik-Lange scenario.

Somebody would have to gain or lose a good portion of weight for that to take place.

Cujo and Pavlik are at 168. Technically, Lange is a junior middleweight. Jeter can go from junior middle to middleweight, so we'd have to see where their bout is. I don't think there will be enough chances taken in that scenario.

Anonymous said...

jeter is the best opponent that lange has faced in a long time

Anonymous said...

To the guy talking about fluffy ducks with dirreaha.
That sounds just like Johnny Lange
who swears that he never leaves comments on this site.(Bullshit)
I'll bet your right about the outcome. You would know because your the one making it happen.
How many meetings will you have about how the outcome of the bout will happen.

Will the Beltway Barista be serving coffee at the Patriot Center?

Anonymous said...

Really, where does all of this hatred for Jeter really come from, anyway? You might not like him but he is a nice enough guy who has no ill will towards anyone.
