Here's the entire lineup for the United Boxers card on Saturday, July 16 at DC Star Night Club in Northeast DC:
Undefeated Oxon Hill, MD light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson will be in the six-round main event against "Neon" Keon Johnson of Indianapolis, IN.
Alexander Johnson (11-0, four KO's) is coming off his biggest career win to date -- a 10-round majority decision over previously undefeated Farah Ennis on April 2 in Atlantic City, NJ. Keon Johnson (8-5, four KO's) will be trying to break a three-bout losing streak where he has been knocked out in all three bouts.
The co-feature will have undefeated Baltimore welterweight Emmanuel "Tranzformer" Taylor in another six-round contest against veteran Jose Angel "Lucky" Roman of St. Augustine, FL. Taylor (12-0, nine KO's) won a six-round unanimous decision over Marcus Brashers on May 21 in Millersville, MD. Roman (11-31-5, five KO's) makes his second straight trip to the Beltway, losing a six-round unanimous decision to James Stevenson on April 15 in Millersville.
Undefeated Suitland, MD cruiserweight Venroy July returns to the Beltway region in another scheduled six-round bout against Cleveland, OH's Rayshawn Myers.
July (6-0-2, two KO's) will try to bounce back from a six-round majority draw against Paul Jennette on April 23 in Winston-Salem, NC. Myers (4-8, three KO's) will be battling against his sixth undefeated opponent in his last seven bouts. Myers lost a four-round unanimous decision to Alex Guerrero on February 18 in Salisbury, MD.
Undefeated lightweight Jerren Cochran, now fighting out of Alexandria, VA will battle DC's Hugh Hinds in a four-round contest.
Cochran, a native of Houston, TX (2-0, two KO's), will make his Beltway-area debut on this card having scored two first-round knockouts in Galveston and Humble, TX. Hinds (0-1) has not fought since losing his pro debut to Tyrone Wright by unanimous decision in Salisbury, MD in June of 2009.
An interesting bout should be the four-round contest between Forestville, MD junior middleweight Alantez "Tez" Fox and veteran "Strictly Business" Mike Denby of Felton, DE.
Fox (4-0, three KO's) scored a third-round knockout over Warren Snapp on May 13 in Primm, NV. Denby (3-10-4, two KO's) is winless in his last three bouts but has given tough battles to other Beltway Boxers including Todd Wilson and Lenwood Dozier.
There will also be another four-round contest featuring debuting DC middleweight Jacey Thompson as he takes on Tevin Parker of North Carolina (0-2).
Capitol Heights, MD featherweight Thomas "KO" Snow (14-1, nine KO's) is also slated to be on the card against an opponent to be named.

This is the first card with my new company, United Boxers, in DC. what I am trying to do in DC is to develop a series of shows and with that series build a strong long lasting presence here. Keep in mind that no promoter has been able to build a long running series of shows in DC. That is my highest priority.
I will call in to the radio show with Gary and Alex this evening to discuss this show, what my plans are for the next few shows and what I have in mind long term. Hopefully when you hear what this series is about you will chose to come out and support the effort.

There will also be tickets available at DC Star on Saturday night. Flyfellas is working with me to do the after party and it should be very good. you have some good fighters on this card but there not fighting each other,they are fighting people that they are supposed to beat.
If you want people to come out and support you then put some real
fights on.This is not meant to bust your balls just keeping it real.

It's called building your prospects. As Chris said, this is his first card under the United Boxers banner.
No Beltway Boxer worth their salt (if they know their history) is going to take a bout against another Beltway Boxer if it doesn't mean anything. So there is no reason to have a bout like that at this stage.
So this is a showcase card to bring in new fans who may not know these boxers now but will hopefully follow them in the future.
Thank you Gary. You got it. This is the third show of United Boxers and the first show in DC. I am hoping to build a series here. There is great talent and the most knowledgeable groups of fans anywhere. The talent on Saturday night is terrific. There will be a tribute to two of our special world champions, Mark Johnson and Sharmba Mitchell, followed by great music. It looks to be a special first event for United Boxers.
Middendorf don't have enough loyalty in him to stick with something and put on a series of shows. The list of people he has stiffed over the years is a mile long. Chrissy you better change your ways iand show some respect and humility if you want this to work. I'd like it to work but you got to change.
Chris Middendorf didn't pay me for a fight. Promised me he'd make good for over 2 months but never came through. Watch out.

If anyone really feels they were shorted by Chris - or any other boxing promoter/matchmaker - they should have filed a dispute with the athletic commission or a lawsuit in court. Instead they throw up anonymous bullshit on a message board to try and slander his name.
If not for Chris, DC would have barely existed as a boxing town in the past decade. The vitriol towards Chris is obviously a case of sour grapes from a few scorned fighters or trainers. If they were worth anything at their trade, they would be above this garbage.
This show is such a joke. The people who were conned into buying tickets will see. Why would anyone want to see non competitive boxing? I see atleast one guy from North Carolina as the opponent. That right there is a fixed fight.I pretty sure it will be a ko in the first round.

I would like to attend the fight but, don't wan't to waste my cash,has anyone seen any of these guys fight and, if so are they worth watching? Who is your favorite? Any K.O. predictions?
Alexander Johnson is coming off his biggest win of his career. Has not shown a lot of knockout power but he is a sound boxer.
I think Emmanuel Taylor is a solid prospect. He has been fighting a lot of faded veterans but he is doing what he's supposed to with them.
I have been very impressed with Alantez Fox since his amateur days. Very tall and used his height very well as a young pro.
Venroy July is an interesting cruiserweight. His back story is even more interesting as he is a lawyer. I've seen him look very good and I've seen him struggle.
These are good undefeated prospects on a showcase card and they, plus the others on the card, deserve your support!
As do the legends being honored on the card -- Mark Johnson and Sharmba Mitchell!

Question,Has Sharmba or Mark done anything in the community lately to support the youth? I'm asking because these guys are being honored, just wondering because, it would be the community that honors them.
Mark is training boxers and has been trying to establish his own boxing gym. He has followed in his father's footsteps with training.
Sharmba, I'm not completely sure about. He has been doing a lot with music as he is part of a band as a drummer. I don't know what his connection to boxing is at this time, except he has been involved in the management of boxers over the last few years.
On the issue of the tribute:
Mark and Sharmba are two great champions from this area. They are being honored because they excelled at one of the most difficult pursuits in sport and they did it with grace and courage.
But what I am really after is to build a sense of continuity and community between the people who grew up rooting for our area's champions, the fighters that are young pros today and by extension the great young fighters that are developing here as well as amateurs.
One can tell by the anonymous words that are published here about everyone that gets recognized in any way, that there is very little civility or mutual support of others that work in the boxing community. In many ways the area in boxing is like DC itself: a city where so many people are coming and going and where the business of the city itself is overshadowed by the business of the country and the world. The effect that has is that there is less civic pride here than any other major city and we are the capital of the world.
I moved here 28 years ago and first lived at 13th and East Capitol Street. It is my home town and I clearly look up to and am proud of the great athletes that this area has produced. They deserve to be honored for their accomplishments. There are many more great champions from this area and this series is going to honor them all.
Not paying fighters who've trained, ha. Who is this guy? My 'red flag' is out. Fighters must stick together and report, as do: trainers, managers and promoters.

Middendorf is so full of crap. His motivation is not to honor Sharmba and Mark but to sell more tickets. It ain't going to work though. Middendorf is not good on the promotional side. In fact, he is terrible. This series won't work out as Middendorf has done too many people wrong over the years.
Chris tried to pay me to take a fall one time and he wasn't offering anything real. Jerk.
