The Hard Times Promotions card on Saturday, April 23 at the DC Star (formerly DC Tunnel) Night Club in Washington, DC features two local heavyweights in separate six-round bouts.
Undefeated DC heavyweight Maurice "Freight Train" Byarm will take on veteran "Mr. P" Willie Palms of Jersey City, NJ in the main event. Byarm (10-0, seven KO's) makes his first appearance in 2011. In his last outing, Byarm scored a fifth-round TKO over Winston Thorpe on December 11 in Pikesville, MD. Palms (10-9-1, five KO's) has not fought since December of 2009 and will be trying to break an eight-bout losing streak.
Laurel, MD's "The Big Ticket" Dwayne McRae also returns to action as he faces Terre Haute, IN's James Porter. McRae (9-2, five KO's) won his last bout at the DC Star on November 11 when he stopped Octavius Davis in the first round. Porter (5-14-2, one KO) fought Kyle Patrick to a four-round draw in his last outing on March 3 in Columbus, OH.
Seven other bouts are slated to make up this card. Capitol Heights, MD super bantamweight Thomas "KO" Snow (13-1, eight KO's) will battle James Franks of Newport News, VA (2-6-1, two KO's) in a four-round bout. Snow won a six-round unanimous decision over Jason Rorie on the November 11 DC Star card. Franks has not fought since September of 2009 and will be looking to break a four-bout losing streak.
The card also marks the return of DC junior middleweight Gary "Fast Hands" Jones, who will take on Torrence King of Ohio in a four-round contest. Jones (20-2, eight KO's) returns after an almost eight-year absence. Jones is the older brother of the Russell family of boxers. King (1-7) is trying to break a seven-bout losing streak.
Also scheduled to be on the card is Baltimore heavyweight "Slick" Nick Kisner who will take on the debuting Andre Ward of DC in a four-round contest. Kisner (8-0, five KO's) fought on April 15 in Millersville, MD and won a four-round unanimous decision over Leo Bercier.
Undefeated Centreville, VA middleweight Zain Shah returns to action to battle North Carolina's Tevin Parker in a bout scheduled for four rounds. Shah (4-0, two KO's) won a six-round unanimous decision over Omar Sims on November 6 in Fairfax, VA. Parker (0-1) lost his pro debut by first-round TKO to Mark Anderson on February 12 in Columbia, SC.
Another Virginia middleweight -- Brandon Quarles of Alexandria -- will also be on the card as he faces David Tomlin of Wilson, NC in another four-rounder. Quarles (3-0, one KO) won a four-round unanimous decision over Lawrence Jones on November 6 in Fairfax. Tomlin (0-1) lost his pro debut by first-round TKO to Vernon Alston on February 18 in Raleigh, NC.
Also slated to be on the card is undefeated Newport News, VA junior middleweight Jeremiah Wiggins (9-0-1, four KO's) who will battle Alan Moore of Indianapolis, IN (2-11, two KO's) in a four-rounder.

How is Nick Kisner fighting a guy with no profesional fights and he has never even once fought in the amateurs? I do not understand how this is happening??? Please explain!
To my understanding the guy called kisner up and asked for it.....but yes i dont think this fight should take place either. the kids dumb for calling him out, and kisner had no choice but to take it, but the commision should have stepped in on this one.

Hard Times Promotion is putting on this show. They should have their license revoked for putting together this vomit. Good luck though to the local guys.
Who is the matchmaker on this card.This is really a bag of vomit
and any commission that lets this kind of thing happen should examine their own morals and values.
Andre Ward may not win..but he will shock a lot of people with how much heart he has and he will be a much harder fight than James Hunt, Kenneth Farr and Robert Hunt were.
