Jargal Travels To Atlantic City July 17!

We have more information on what we briefly mentioned during the BATB Post-Fight Wrap-Up show from the Patriot Center. Undefeated Arlington, VA junior welterweight "The Mongolian Mongoose" Bayan Jargal returns to action this Saturday, July 17 at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ.

Jargal (15-0-2, 10 KO's) will be making his debut with Star Boxing (he is also promoted by Let's Get It On Promotions) when he faces James Hope of Rock Hill, SC (6-5, four KO's) in a scheduled eight-round contest on the undercard of the David Tua-Monte Barrett bout. The card is on pay-per-view but no official word on whether Jargal's bout will make the telecast.

Jargal is coming off a first-round TKO over Louie Leija on March 6 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Hope lost his last bout by fourth-round knockout to Bryan Abraham on May 7 in Huntington, NY.

When does this guy have to fight some real opposition?

NEVER

please define real opposition, his record is descent, but it does show two draws against lesser competition. He should continue to pad his record for atleast 5 more fight, this will allow him to continue to build confidence, and earn some descent money in the interim, or maybe we should throw him in with the wolves and sharks too soon, like most of the local fighters looking to cash in on a payday too early, thus resulting in a ruined career before it even begins.

Sooner or later he will be forced to step up... When that happens, we will really know what type of fighter he is..

"Decent money"??... This guy is most likely making $5,000-10,000 per fight... You can't live off that kid.. He will have to step up if he wants the real purses.

Yes, with Chrissy Middendorfous behnd him, he might as well retire now. The kid is getting ripped off.

first of all at 15-0 he needs to be fightning a little bit better fighters, we would have ripped fernando, or the peterson brothers for this type of fight. well they rip fernando now and he is fighting good opposition, i do think fighers should be developed but he should at least be fighting someone with a better record and that can fight at least 9-1 11-2 someone who will really test hime

If his camp wants to bring him along like this then they shouldn't be comparing him to other fighters in the area who lay it all on the line. You want to say that he is the best fighter in the area in this weight class then you put him in with very weak opposition. You can't have it both ways guys.

As long as he's matched right he will be hell for anybody in the other corner. Tough kid, strong, good puncher, goes to the body. Now you get a boxer on the other side with a good jab and good movement and Jargal may be over his head. BUT - doesn't that type of guy give everyone fits? I like him, I like the way he fights, and I wish the kid well!
