Gazette Profiles Old School Boxing's Challenges!

More Beltway Boxing press. Jason Policastro, in a special article to The Gazette Newspapers, chronicles the trials and success stories of the Old School Boxing gym in Fort Washington, MD. Old School is located at Rosecroft Raceway, the race track that recently shut down. Policastro wrote an article about this situation on his own blog and this is another nice article.

Thanks! We have plenty of gym equipment. Rings, bags, etc...
We are just looking for a place to put it. If you ever want to help a young kid out, each and every gym in the DC area has kids that could use some gear. Pick a gym near you and find out who needs help. Anyway, that very nice of you...

You would think that since they have begun to eliminate after school programs and even some after school sports, kids would flock to sports like boxing that would be available through community centers and etc... Combat sport teaches such discipline but the media make it seem so barbaric and inhumane when they do sports and show various 2 second clips of people bleeding..

Best of luck to you.. The ones who are trying to make a difference in the community have it the hardest, while youth foam at the mouth over entertainers, actors, overpaid cry baby basketball players, and politicians who really could care less.

I will definitely look into donating gear to gyms.
