Beltway Amateurs Compete at Ohio State Fair!

One of the more well-known amateur boxing tournaments in the country is the prestigious Ohio State Fair tournament in Columbus, OH this week.

The 43rd annual tournament, now named after former world heavyweight champion and Columbus native James "Buster" Douglas, has long been a launching pad for the careers of many, including here in the Beltway.

This year, a number of locals will participate in the event, including nine from the Sugar Ray Leonard and and Kentland Boxing Gyms. Here is their list.

I'm fairly sure Sugar Ray Leonard competed at the Ohio State fair as an amateur.
