Cujo, not a fan but have respect for you. You seem dedicated to the craft. You lost to a good fighter in a close fight but didnt sit it out for 6 months, you got right back in the ring and fought. You got heart! When's your next fight?

In contrast, Jeter waited three years between losses, and thus is a old fighter scared of his shadow.

WHAT IS A GREEN RIVER.?

No, that's not true. Cujo is not the greatest thing since sliced bread. But he is Better than Mo Better and he would beat that dude until he quit and everybody in boxing knows it. The only guy that would give Jeter a chance is Mike D. It's a slaughter of a fight and it will never happen. Leave Jeter alone and let him keep knocking out bums a couple of times a year while Cujo is fighting legit 10 round fights against solid guys and continuing to improve.

It's a reference to Justin "Green River" Ridgway. He has been at the center of a couple of the most spirited (and lengthy)threads on this blog, with him (or his fans) calling out Cujo.

As far as the moniker itself, I can only assume it's a reference to his unfortunately-shared surname with Gary Ridgway, AKA The Green River Killer.

Someone called him yellow river what do you think they meant by that?

I agree, can we stop the talk about club one's husband? The guy is an old neverbeen whose fear of a competitive fight is widely known in Maryland. Cujo is a young kid, fighting the way he should, racking up experience. I don't think he is terribly talented, however at the current pace, he will prove to be a solid club figter who may get tapped for a national tv ko. The game has passed up the fitness club fearful fighter, lets move past him. Please.

"Yellow River"--The best selling novel by I.P. Dayley.

One of my favorite jokes as a kid, and it still makes me smile.

You've got to be sharp to keep up with some of these insults. Come on guys! You hit Green River right on the head in reference to Ridgway's (take your pick as to which one I am talking about) instability. Yellow River is a play on Green River with a subtle inference to Tony Jeter's nickname, AKA Mo Better. Or, more precisely, what Cujo calls him - The Bed Wetter. Yellow River, Bed Wetter. Get it? Still don't get it? When Tony Jeter wets the bed having nightmares about Cujo, what color are his sheets? Got it now? Good!

Yellow river is like the piss that runs down your leg when your scared to death to fight somebody that has a pulse.Who could that be?
more people than you think. Some of the people that are always calling people out would probobly make excuses if somebody cashed in there wolf tickets.

Tony Jeter: the greatest boxer on this side of the Odenton Landfill.
How about that legacy!!!

Wasn't Boone Pultz from Odenton?

Cujo would be better served by taking some time off and learning the fundamentals of throwing a punch. His pushing and slapping punches will not take him any where. Get with it Joey.

Anonymous said...

He may slap, but he will slap Jeter unconscious!

Anonymous said...

Cujo, is a decent fighter.. but his smart ass mouth is gonna get slapped good one day, hell besides his last fight, the best thing was watching the promoter blow up like a child....that look embarassing....lol

In the promoters defense, there are things that will make you absolutley crazy at these shows and sometimes you just need to vent.He may have chosen the wrong time and place but the pressure of putting together one of these shows and then watch it fall apart
two hours before first bell is more than alot of people can take.
Try walking in his shoes before you become to critical.

where ever there is money involved trying to put shows on in towns depending on the boxers to sell the tickets to cover the show cost and you trying to keep your head above water, everyone is stressed look at the economy, but he unleashed some knind of nasty Jeckle/Hyde..does that give him the right to lash out at everyone,we are all working to make a good show..even if I had to pay 60.00 for a ticket his business attitude was bad, he was yelling and curesing at people I guess he had then working the show, I would tell him to take a flying leap..next time, but then he is not hurting anyone but the boxers he represents, he and Cujo, and there a perfect fit disrespectful to everything and everyone, trust me what goes around comes around, Joe is a better matchmaker than promoter, except in that pathetic female fight, that hit and fall was as fake as Joe wearing a rug, that was just a terrible set up for a pro debut, if that was my pro debut, I would have been embareassed. they werent fighting the were bitch fighting slapping, there is not different style for women, all they needed was a few bar lights and some beer, that was a oldfashion cat fight, a disrespect to the sport.

You don't know what you're talking about! The girl's fight was the fight of the night and very exciting while it lasted! You say that was a hit and fall fake? Yeah, the one girl hit the other with a right hand and the other girl fell but that was no fake, that was legit! The girls were green but they were both green so it made for a good fight while it lasted. Spoken like someone who has never been in the ring and think fighters lay down because of how they react to a punch? Have you ever been hit in a ring? You ever been hit with a body shot? Well that shit hurts, and sometimes it takes a second or two for the pain to fully set in and make you wither from the pain. Same way with a good head shot. Your body doesn't always react right away because you may not be aware what is going on. Kind of like being shot, there can be a delay there, something with the nervous system. That was no fake fight, that was a great fight between two girls who were green but came to throw down and fight!

The VA Commission is a joke. I know this is a boxing blog but you've got to click these links and read how incompetent they were for an MMA event. I am sure they are equally as incompetent when it comes to regulating boxing as well. Here are the links:

You've got to read this link too. I like both boxing and mma. This was about an mma event but the same guy, Dave Holland, oversees boxing too. I feel sorry for anybody that has to deal with this guy. Here is an excerpt of the article and the link is below.

"Saunders was at the RIE event in Harrisonburg, Virginia this past Saturday cornering fighters. Posting on the UnderGround forum, Saunders had this to say about Dave Holland and the commission behavior:

I have never heard of or seen in my entire career what went down that night. I said don't you have some kind kind of court trial to discuss and turnover a decision. He said he can do whatever he wants and to watch him, getting very defensive and angry because someone was questioning him. Appearing to make it very personal as opposed to a professional decision. What they showed us was scratched out and rewrites on the card saying they messed up. Not once did they ever apologize or act professional in any way. They seemed like they felt they could run the show however they wanted not abiding by any protocols or rules what so ever."

Thx for the links. Very interesting.

Thank you for those links and I read them all. I was not aware that any of that stuff happened because I don't follow MMA. The same stuff has been going on in boxing in VA for years!

Anonymous said...

man the boxing nation is getting pretty desperate to start the MMA attack to justify your boxing issues now who is pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Did you read those links? Did you read the one about nobody watching the guys wrap their hands? Same commission, same officials, same incompetence. Doesn't matter whether it's boxing, mma, wrestling, whatever.

Anonymous said...

Asim....
Are you not the promoter who put on or tried to put on a event that you had sold tickets, and didn't have a resque team there, after not being able to get one the Commission was leaving and low and behold some one did a 911 and got the police there with a wagon..now lets talk about being a sham.

Anonymous said...

Ease up on Asim. All he said was thanks for the links. And I too would like to thank whomever for providing those links. And if you didn't read them, you should. But just in case you didn't, here's an excerpt:

But something else is rotten in Denmark: the Virginia commission itself. Let me be absolutely clear about this so everyone can get a good look: this is one of the most heavy-handed, incompetent and undeserving athletic commissions I have ever had the displeasure of watching operate. To watch them work is to suffer. As I will detail over the coming week, they are a group that is in no position to be sanctioning and regulating professional MMA. Their judges are utterly clueless, their existing judging criteria is an abortion of proper standards and the officials in place are ineffectual bullies who are thoroughly unfamiliar with law and historical precedent. In their present state, they are a threat to the growth of MMA.

AsimHanif said...

Yup...I had a show scheduled where the EMT did not show up. I also took responsibility publically.
If you were there you'd know how 'supportive & professional' Dave Holland was.
Not sure what you mean by '911 call' but an EMT wagon did come by (no police that I know of) and were willing to stay...until they spoke to Dave Holland.

You might not know that another promoter had the same situation a few months later and it was handled in a totally diff fashion. The show went on after a few hrs to find an EMT team.

All I said above was 'thanks' so if you have an issue with me saying 'thanks', you may be a bit sensitive for some reason. You should also get your 'facts' correct before putting stuff out here.

That's right Asim, you tell 'em! And I know that Asim paid everyone associated with that show, all the fighters, the venue, AND the commission! Asim, paid you and you didn't even work that night and for what it's worth, I think someone at the boxing commission wrote those comments putting down Asim! So the man pays you, puts up with, in Asim's words, "supportive and professional" Dave Holland, and you come on here and put the man down? Whoever did that is a bunch of sorry, pathetic, jealous haters to the 100th degree! Leave the man alone, he lost a LOT of money, paid your sorry ass, and you're still putting him down! Pathetic!
