Rivers Wins Opening Contest at World Championships!

Landover, MD featherweight Kevin Rivers has won his opening bout at the Amateur World Championships in Milan, Italy.

Rivers defeated Ibrahim Balla of Australia, 22-19 in his first round contest. Rivers will now face Bashir Hassan of Sweden, who defeated Askarbek Kalpakov of Kyrgyzstan, 9-6. The bout will be on Sunday, September 6.
