Wilson Stopped After 10 Rounds in Russia!

Takoma Park, MD light heavyweight Darnell "The Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson was stopped at the end of the 10th round by top-ranked cruiserweight Grigory Drozd tonight in Moscow, Russia.

Fightnews.com reporter Alexey Sukachev reports that Drozd dominated the whole fight with his precision yet hard punching, barely losing a single minute in any round and stalking his opponent around the ring. The fan-friendly action turned into an ugly foul match after the seventh round and both boxers were deducted some points by referee Victor Panin. With his right eye virtually shut and being horribly battered in later rounds, Wilson retired in his corner, though never down, after the tenth round. This is the first time that Wilson has been stopped in a bout in his pro career.

This is Wilson's third straight loss and his record falls to 23-9-3, 20 KO's. Drozd, who is ranked number one in the world by the WBO, is now 32-1, 24 KO's.

Darnell,

Good job staying in the fight. THey shure did let him foul you a lot. You have my respect for coming overseas to fight him in his home. I hope you are ok and will have a speedy recovery.
