Tucker Scores First-Round TKO in Westminster!

Before an estimated 2,000 fans, Eldersburg, MD light heavyweight Mark "TNT" Tucker remained undefeated with a stunning first-round TKO over Richard Stewart of New Castle, DE at the Shipley Arena at the Carroll County Agricultural Center in Westminster, MD.

Tucker came out strong and landed a good jab, but Stewart did land a shot of his own. The shot didn't seem to faze Tucker, Stewart then started to clown a little bit and he paid for it as Tucker landed a hard left-right combo. Later in the round, Tucker landed a powerful right hand that sent Stewart crashing to the canvas on his knees. Stewart never recovered and referee John Gradowski waved off the contest at 2:30 of the round.

Tucker is now 7-0, six KO's. Five of Tucker's six knockouts have come in the first round. Stewart's record falls to 14-8-2, eight KO's.

In other bouts on the card:

The co-feature saw DC lightweight Ron "Teflon" Boyd win a six-round split decision over Dean "Pit Bull" White of Smithsburg, MD. This was a tough fight to watch as the two styles of the boxers made it difficult. White was penalized one point for holding in the sixth round.

Judges Gary Camponeschi and Malik Waleed scored the bout for Boyd, 59-54 while judge Don Risher had the bout 57-56 for White. BATB scored it 59-55 for Boyd, who breaks a four-bout losing streak and raises his record to 6-5, two KO's while White falls to 14-10-1, seven KO's. White has now lost five in a row.

Junior middleweight Lenwood "Mr. Composure" Dozier, now fighting out of Laurel, MD, captured a close, four-round majority decision over Westminster, MD based Ken Dunham to remain undefeated. Dozier battled a cut along his right eye as well as a solid performance from Dunham. Camponeschi called the bout even at 38-38 while judges Gradowski and Risher scored the bout for Dozier at 39-37. BATB saw the bout 39-37 for Dunham.

Dozier is now 5-0-1, two KO's. Dunham is 5-7, three KO's.

Junior middleweight Jamar "Da Truth" Freeman of Wilson, NC won a four-round unanimous decision over Cambridge, MD's Dontre "Pound For Pound" King. Freeman is now 2-0 while King is 1-3-1.

Otganbayer Daivii of Annandale, VA lost a four-round unanimous decision to Mechanicsville, VA's Francois Ambang in a cruiserweight battle. Daivii is now 2-2-1, one KO while Ambang is 1-1.

In a hard-fought battle, Norfolk, VA middleweight Jeremiah "The Bounty Hunter" Wiggins won a four-round unanimous decision over the debuting Ron Reaves of Tampa, FL. Wiggins is now 2-0.

Here is the BATB Post-Fight Wrap-Up which includes an interview with Mark Tucker, Jr. and Sr.

Digital,

Are you sure Ron Reaves is a debut from Florida? I remember a Ron Reaves from Maryland who fought a tough fight against Charles Norwood in Northern, VA? Is that the same guy?

Ron Reaves wasn't a debut. They had it wrong on boxrec.com too.

Digital,

Find that out for me if that was indeed the same Ron Reaves from Maryland. I heard that fight was a real war!

This place was a joke. No heat in the place for the fans or boxers. The ring had poor lighting. I mean they had two chicken heat lamps for lights in the center of the ring.Shit, you would have been better off building a bon fire in the center of the ring and fighting around that. Hey, TNT for your next fight card have a mudbogg and a pig roast. P.S. Great tramp stamps on the ring girls love the bear paws. One more thing next time you have a fight card in the winter get some spray tan for the girls.

This was NOT the same Ron Reaves that fought on the Diego Corrales benefit card in Virginia a couple of years ago.

This Ron Reaves hails from Tampa, Florida, not from Maryland.

hmm... not sure we were at the same show as you. As far as the boxing went, it was like most of the cards... varied - some surprises, some expected results and if the boxer you support lost you were not happy... There was heat in the building, but it's a big place and it was very cold outside and smokers kept leaving the doors open when they went out to smoke! I've been to several venues around the area and this one was much nicer than those. You seem to be down on Carroll County and the people who live there...
BTW, I'm not from Carroll County

I look forward to the next card in April. I'm sure TNT Promotions has learned some things from this first night and will make adjustments to improve on a show that was already a fine start!

I was also at the show and I can tell you that Boyd won the popularity contest among at least two of the judges.

I too was dissapointed with the turnout and what the night brought. To pay the price of gen admission and to be in a building that had no heat was ridiculous. I would rather go to Martins West and pay the extra $25 for a higher class evening. Domino's pizza and canned beer for $4 give me a break!! I will not becoming to another TNT promotions fight event in the future. I agree with first post, stick to the bull riding!

How was the crowd, how were the fights? how many people made the hike?

I personally think that if it wasn't for a couple of good fights that the evening would have been a bust. I will not be attending another TNT promoted fight...would have much rather have had watched the ring girls mud wrestle.

Wow young Brady...you are starting to sound like a promising promoter!

Tucker would beat the shit out of Mike Paschall. He used to do it all the time when they sparred

Anonymous said...

I wish I would have saved my money for tonights PPV's, instead of wasting it on the vomit they served in westminster last night!

Mark TNT Tucker is too strong for Mike Paschal. You must not know boxing that well. Or you are jealous of The Mark Tucker Sucess.
Get a life and do your own thing. Dont hate of the next heavy weight champ of the world. Mr. TNT TUCKER.
His coach/dad had did a tremendous job. Mark Tucker Jr beat all those guys you talk about years ago in the amateurs. Now how do you like those apples.

Anonymous said...

Next Heavyweight champion? Sounds like somebody doesn't know their boxing very well! Check the weight, hint hint.

Anonymous said...

Is it me or does Tucker look a little fat. I think Pachall and Tucker would be a great fight.

Gary Digital Williams said...

Tucker weighed in at 180 for last Friday's bout primarily to benefit Stewart, who has fought more at cruiser than light heavyweight during the latter stages of his career.

As for Tucker-Mike Paschall, it's a bout that would be intriguing but at this stage, Tucker needs that bout more than Paschall does. Maybe a year down the road, it would make more sense financially. Right now, though, Paschall doesn't need a bout with Tucker in my opinion. It's too soon.

WHY ARE THE PEOPLE THAT SAY TUCKER WOULD BEAT MIKE NOT PUTTING THERE NAMES OH I KNOW BECAUSE IF THEY DID THEY WOULD BE LAUGHED AT ANY ONE THAT CAN GIVE ANDRE DIRELL HELL CAN FIGHT NOW IM NOT GOING TO TRASH TALK TUCKER BECAUSE THATS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY THE BELTWAY DOSENT HAVE A BIG PROSPECT YET LETS START SUPPORTING OUR GUYS THAN DOWNING ON THEM... AND FOR THE GUY THAT SAID TUCKER GOT THE BETTER OF MIKE IN SPARRING IS CRAZY THEY KNOW WHAT ALLWAYS HAPPENED...PEACE

BRADY SENSIBAUGH

Anonymous said...

Abdre Direl completely outclassed Pashcal every damn round until andre wanted to go home. he then took care of business that put a crater like hole in mikes forhead.
now mark tucker is too damn tough for that nonsense. mark has trained and sparred with glen johnson the road warrier. as far as sparring-i was there-you were not. mark always man handled mike.
josh even admits that. mark is chopping wood in freezing tempertures at 4:30 am-can you just imagine how he would chop paschal down. i was 10 feet from stewert the other night when he crumbled. mark tucker jr is the next SAA World Champion. Mark Tucker is a true blooded Indian.
The toughest SOB you will ever meet. Stop bashing the guy-you are so damn jealous of him.

Anonymous said...

Didnt Mike and crew beat Mark sr and jr up. They never came back to sparr!

I do not like one more than the other. I am a person that is right in the middle. They are both good fighters with potential. I think Mark Tucker is shocking alot of people with his professional campaign. However yall need to calm down and allow Mark to grow. A fight with Mike Paschal would not be in his interest at all. I know that some of you are getting excited for Mark Tucker but don't put the world on his back. He has been moved really good thus far. Keep up the good work Mark Sr and Jr. Do not allow these people to determine the pace of your career. Mike Paschal has boxed 100 professional rounds in 20 bouts losing only 1 to an Olympian and Mark Tucker has boxed 15 rounds in only 7 bouts losing none. Mike Paschal has been 6-8 rounds in more fights than Tucker has total fights. Mark Tucker has gone 6 rounds one time and 4 rounds one time. Mark has had 5 first round ko's. Mark needs to gain more ring experience before he thinks about fighting Paschal. Maybe next year it would be a good fight. Sparring is not a real boxing match. It is rumored that Paul Spadafora got the best of Floyd Mayweather in a sparrong match. Who would you bet your money on in a real boxing match? Get the picture? Keep up the good work both of you and rep the Beltway respectfully. Let's encourage the Beltway Boxers and stop the hating. Then maybe just maybe Baltimore will produce a champion. Peace!

nice long letter critizing mark tucker in a nice way. u r so upset that mark is doing dood, not to mention that he whips the shit out of you sparring. he always got the best of you even though u r a heavyweight. i have it on tape-remember. mark tucker is the real deal-he aint some clown who is scared everytime he goes out of town. calls home every 6 minutes.
i was there with mark in ohio and in chicago and he is a beast. u r so jealous of mark sr and mark jr.

Anonymous said...

Mark Tucker would knock Mike Paschall right out in the first round because paschall wouldn't be able to run from tucker

Anonymous said...

you might be on the money with that analogy mark sr.

Anonymous said...

you all say its always mark sr talking his son up its probabably not go to one of his tuckers fights hes got 2500 fans dont always say its tucker sr.

Ok guys, Tucker wasn't the only fight on the card. Did anyone see Wiggins? Floored the other kid with a deadly accurate overhand right in the 1st. That fight was telling. Wiggins is going places especially if he's in the gym with Willie Taylor and Jargal the Mongoose. I don't know where Willie is gettin 'em from but they look good.

Awhile back I saw an entry from Linda the Hotshot (love you Linda and your work - secret admirer) crediting JD Brown and Willie Taylor for Jargals development. I didn't say anything then but if you ask around to people who are not haters but real observers of the game they will tell you Willie Taylor is one of the most underrated trainers in the game.

The reason I'm saying this is because I overheard a very negative comment JD Brown made about Taylor during the Wiggins fight. When I heard it I thought that is total unprofessional bs to talk about the trainer especially as good as the kid looked. On top of that I doubt if JD Brown has spent 2 minutes in the gym with Wiggins or even Jargal.

Jargal and now possibly Wiggins will be on the map because of the way they are being trained. They are themselves dedicated, hungry fighters but trainers don't always get the credit they deserve especially early in elite fighter's careers. Jargal and Wiggins are going places and they both have solid technical skills and tremendous power. That is a combination of advanced tech training, strength training and excellent sparring. Everybody knows that. Ask Buddy McGirt what he thinks of Willie Taylor. He has great respect for him.

There is a place for JD Brown but as things get bigger for those guys I hope they shake his ass loose. Down the road disloyalty spells disaster. I don't want to repeat what he said but he should be careful to be aware of who is sitting in earshot.

Good futures for good fighters we all know is in the fighter, the trainer, and the management. Jargal and Wiggins have two and need improvement on the third.

Although I am a big supporter of and a loyal friend of Willie Taylors you are in error.
Willie trains Byan full time and does a hell of a job at it.
As for Jeramiah he is trained by a
lady in Norfolk named Gloria Peek
and from what I can see must be doing something right.Willie assist's this lady from time to time but is not Jeramiahs full time trainer. Both Jeramiah and Byan as others that frequent willie
Taylors gym have an opportunity to get some work in an atmosphere full of talent and experience.

I stand corrected. I saw Willie as lead second in Jeremiah's corner and I think George Petersen (paul williams trainer). Congrats to Ms. Peek. I hope JD Brown is no where near them when a contract is signed.

Interesting this. Wasn't there, but since my name was dropped and I have an interest...ya'll know I have to weigh in. :)

I really wanted to be at this fight, but couldn't make it.

I have lauded both J.D.'s and Willies' praises, but the more I am in this game, you have heard me singing Willie's song so much more. There's a reason.

First is, really I haven't had much contact with J.D, but have always heard from boxing peeps I respected that he had and could offer so much to elevate boxing in our area.

Secondly, I have had many more opportunities to observe and have interaction with Willie firsthand, and really witness and understand the scope of his contributions.

On Wiggins...I am screaming crazy on this cat! My first exposure was to his fight in Springfield a couple months ago and knew he was S O M E T H I N G ! ! ! Know he will also go far and want to see so much more of him here.

To my secret admirer...thanks...appreciate so much!

Tucker was a JO when Mike was in the amatures. They could not have fought. Mike is right ya'll need to get your facts straight first.

Anonymous said...

Mike do you think you can beat TNT Tucker

Anonymous said...

I think yall better leave Mike alone before Mark gets his first lost. Personally I don't think Tucker can beat William Gill. William's pro record is 9-21. Mike beat William three times.

Anonymous said...

Tucker would beat Mike. Did you see what he did to Richard Stewart. Mike should have lost that fight against Stewart. What is your opinion Gary? You were at both fights.

I've been in Boxing for along time at a very high level and I call fights the way I see them,if somebody took what I said as a negative at the fights the other night ,it shows me the kind of hide behind your comments ANONYMOUS person you are. The trainer made a mistake that I have seen some of the Best trainers in the world make (and by the way I had this conversation with Willie who I like alot only to help him get to the next level), it was not a negative comment but an observation that I think kept Wiggins from getting a knockout. Wiggins as good as anybody in this area in a long time, and I wish him much success but I'm retired from Boxing(except for Bayan Jargal) and I am not looking to sign anyone else I get two to four calls a week from around the country from guys trying to get me to manage them .I'm not interested, but I am interested in the comment made about me from a pure hater who maybe forgot how he got started in this business.I have only tried to help LOCAL Boxing people at many levels and it only proves people forget were they come from quick in this business.Enjoy what you do but don't worry about me because i'm ok with what I do and doesn't include you now or in the future.Yeah in the future because people do come out of retirement and I just might if this MAJOR deal I've been working on comes to fruition and remember this people who forget are forgotten...
