Johnson Sparring With Tarver; Chernoff to Lead USA Squad in Ireland!

Two very nice stories to pass along. Undefeated Oxon Hill, MD light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson has been working in the camp of former IBF Light Heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver in Orlando, FL. Tarver is preparing for his March 14 rematch against current champ Chad Dawson that will take place in Las Vegas.

Johnson has been the chief sparring partner for Tarver and sources tell BATB that Johnson is performing quite well. So well, in fact, that Johnson (5-0, three KO's) may get an opportunity to fight on that March 14card.

Meanwhile, Salisbury, MD trainer Hal Chernoff is in the midst of a very busy February. This past Friday, Chernoff helped lead his long-time charge -- Fernando Guerrero -- to an eight-round unanimous decision victory in Salisbury. Now, Chernoff will prepare for a trip to Dublin, Ireland as one of the coaches of a USA Boxing team that will face the Irish National Team in two dual meets from February 27 - March 2.

Chernoff will be working with two-time Olympian Rau'shee Warren and 2008 Olympic teammate Raynell Williams as well as US Super Heavyweight champ Michael Hunter. Chernoff will first head to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for preparation from February 18-24 before heading to Ireland.

Boul when are you going to fight again?

Who knows, I tore my shoulder two fights ago, but it tore really bad in my last fight so I have been out of comission. I've just been enjoying my time with my kids. Hopefully this summer. Thanks for asking though.
