Russell Jr. Pro Debut To Be Carried By Showtime!

The pro debut for Capitol Heights, MD featherweight and 2008 Olympian Gary Russell, Jr. will now be a nationally televised event on ShoBox on the Showtime network on Friday, January 16 from the Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, OK. Russell will take on Antonio Reyes of Dallas, TX (3-2) in the undercard bout.

This means that three Beltway Boxers will be on national television in the first two months of the year. After the Russell bout, both Fernando Guerrero and Henry "Sugar Poo" Buchanan will be on TV on Friday, February 6. Guerrero will be the co-feature on ESPN2 from the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, MD while Buchanan will be on ShoBox in the main event from the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, CA.

That number could stretch to four if Anthony Peterson's scheduled 10-round co-feature bout on the Miguel Cotto card on Saturday, February 21 at Madison Square Garden makes the pay-per-view telecast.
