Beltway Boxers On The Road!

Three Beltway Boxers will be looking to capture victories on the road in the next couple of weekends.

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Takoma Park. MD light heavyweight Willis "The Prophet" Lockett will take on Adah, PA's Tommy Karpency on Friday night at the Caravan Club in New Castle, PA. Lockett (10-6-5, four KO's) will try to break a three-bout winless streak (The streak does not include the no-contest against Henry Mayes on November 6 in DC). Karpency (14-1-1, 10 KO's) is coming off a first-round knockout of veteran Lee Fortune on November 15 in Morgantown, WVA.

Also on Friday, veteran DC super middleweight Larry "The Gladiator" Brothers (7-31-3, five KO's) will face undefeated Caleb "Golden" Truax (8-0, five KO's) of Osseo, MN at the Convention Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

On Friday, December 5, Baltimore featherweight Darrell Martin returns to the Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia, PA to face Phoenixville, PA prospect Jules Blackwell. Martin (3-6) will be looking for his second straight victory after winning a unanimous decision over Andre Nichols on October 18 in Springfield, VA. Blackwell 8-1-2, three KO's is coming off a a first-round knockout over Javier Dennis on September 26 in Philadelphia. Also on the road is the B'more/ D.C. areas own, Hasim Rahman.

Hasim, it seems has been faced with short notice, and seems further to need to return to his roots. His roots being, Adrian Davis. Hasim should 'realize the root of the problems he's had recently', by returning to his muslim roots. Trainer Adrian Davis, his former champion trainer, feels that Hasim can be looked at as a big Joe Frazier. Famed trainer of 15 world champions, Adrian Davis says, "If Hasim puts pressure on, nobody can beat him."

Further, Adrian Davis has predicted the outcome of Hasim's last four fights in conversations with Bert Sugar (sp.), and says, "Hasim needs to tuck his chin." World Champion trainer, Adrian Davis wonders why Hasim has no memory of being told, "Close your eyes and you can hit him with the right hand." Speaking of Rahman vs. Lewis I.

Mr. Davis wonders further why Hasim doesn't remember the left hook to the body that he received, and the events that followed. Last, Mr. Davis wonders why Hasim doesn't recall that he was losing against Corey Sanders, only to be brought back. The same for Rahman vs. Lewis I.

"Hasim is a big man and should bang!" -A.D. There hasn't been the same success with other trainers as with Adrian Davis. This list includes the likes of Bouie Fisher, Thell Torrence, and Roger Mayweather.

None of these trainers can lay claim to having trained 15 world champions including, Sharmba Mitchell, William Joppy, Keith Holmes, Simon Brown, and has more recently trained the upstart Ishmail Arvin (no losses or draws while with Davis and from B'more).

Mind you, he trained you Hasim, to a world championship fight victory. When you and A.D. found each other, you were counted out, but A.D. believed in you and made your jab unstoppable. A'int much time now Hasim, RETURN TO YOUR MUSLIM ROOTS!

Thanks to all. I have already talked about Hasim Rahman fighting Wladimir Klitschko, and was going to bring that up again.

I also knew about the three guys going to Florida, but I wanted to wait on that one until later this week, because they just fought this past week and I didn't want to jeopardize them by putting the new one out so soon.

Some people are very funny about that.
