'The Reason' Grant Faces Veteran Wheeler November 7 in Upper Marlboro!

Riverdale, MD heavyweight Horace "The Reason" Grant returns to action on the Bobby Magruder Promotions card on Friday, November 7 at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Grant (12-2, seven KO's) will take on veteran Maurice Wheeler of Philadelphia, PA (10-12-1, one KO) in a scheduled eight-round contest. Grant is coming off a tough eight-round unanimous decision loss to Kevin Burnett in front of a nationally-televised ESPN2 audience on June 20 in Las Vegas, NV.

Wheeler is in desperate need of a win, having dropped his last eight in a row, a streak that started with a fourth-round TKO loss to Tony Thompson in March of 2006. Wheeler has also faced tough heavyweight contenders David Tua and DaVarryl Williamson during this streak.

Just what Grant needs... another soft touch.

This guy got knocked unconscious by Joey Abell last time out. And Abell went on to lose his next two fights, the last one against the extremely ancient Alfred 'Ice' Cole.

Grant's got talent. He needs to develop it... against durable opposition.
