Being a fighter yourself Tony will help you be a successful promoter. With the help of your partners I expect big things in the future with your promotion. Things won't be easy. But you know the game inside and out and the difficulties of local fighters.
Good luck, see you at the gym.

Thats funny coming from someone who probably has never thrown a jab in their life. "Better promoting than fighter?" anybody who has payed attention to boxing in the area can not deny Jeter had a very succesful amateur career and a pro career that wasn't as succesful as his talents would suggest but was far from a failure.

Fact is Jeter has accomplished alot as a fighter because he was dedicated. This dedication will be the reason for his success in promotions.

They say you can tell alot about a person by how they fight. Fact is Jeter never quit, wavered, or stopped attacking, and thats the kind of person you want in your corner knowing when chips are down he isn't going to sit on his stool. The team they have assembled is a dream team of lawyers, business owners, and a fighter with over a decade boxing expertise. As for trying to asses whether or not Jeter has taken to many blows to the head to make good decisions, just use his decision to align himself with such talent as a starting point. Looks as though its not intelligence he is lacking. "There may be a new sherrif in town!!!!!!!"

TP I would first like to say I agree with you with the exception of one thing. I have known Tony and for at least 15 years and have trained beside him, sparred with him and ran along side of him many of times and we've had some wild times outside of the ring as well. In the pro game its not that Tony's opponents beat him or were better. Tony's worse opponent can be and has been his self. I have seen T box heavyweights on down and box there ears off. Tony can sometimes be very hard headed and tries to slug it out when it doesn't call for it. T has much experience in the ring and he has great reflexes, fast hands, excellent footwork, punching power, charm a great hook can go to the body something terrible (yes not many people the flash of talent this boy has when he decides to use it) and is very calm under pressure and as you said TP has all the heart in the world. What messes him up is he has this thing he calls "Get Back" meaning if you tag him with a good shot he's going to try and knock your head off and Tony wants to knock everyone out instead of using the skills he has such as the Mike Paschalls does and other BOXERS should. You could not believe the things I have seen Tony do. He just needs to be pushed as he has a tendency to lose focus and not be as serious as he should be. While I can make a comment as I have boxed(not pro) a few fights (went to the national golden gloves with the DC team under the late great Mr. Tuttle)I'm sick and tired of people hating on our local fighters. I'm glad to see T doing his thing as well as the Peterson boys (who I trained with briefly when they were Juniors and Harold Parker was the man down there with Kion Davis (not sure of the spelling of his first name) who I might add and in my opinion and Barry even might agree was the baddest junior hands down to lace them up and that says something if you ever saw Harold, Lamont and Anthony back then and the rest of the Beltway Boxers. I wish Tpny all the luck in the world and all of the Beltway Boxers. I love the DMV fighters and Thank you to Digital and all of the local promotes, coaches and participants in every aspect for putting DMV on the map the way you have. Tony this is your boy C from Laurel. Get at me as I know you check this site. I still have your number and actually had an idea for your next fight.

jeter has a very diffucult time coming back from getting knocked out by 2 guys with no amateur background what so ever. i hope he does not quit his day job...

What you talkin bout Jeter is a quiter, both times he got knocked out he was MIA for 4 years then over 2 years the 2nd time......

You know what the post I put up previously was not intended to asses, promote, or demote Jeters boxing capabilities. I'm very familiar with the local talent, and nobody can state subjectively Jeter wasn't one of the more talented boxers to come from the area.

A quitter doesn't come back a quitter tucks tail and runs never to be heard of again. For someone to consider him a quitter I am assuming they know Tony intimately and what he may/may not had going at the time. Fact is he jumped in the ring over 100 times lets not forget that.

Furthermore how anybody can see this as a negative is either a potential competitor, hater, or has no business acumen. If you are a beltway boxing fan this is great news more promoters equals more shows which equal more choices and you just determine which is the "better promotion" and you support them.

If you are a boxer this means everybody has to step their game up they can't halfway promote a card cause then they lose face and possible money. Up until now there were two games in town you either got with them or you kept it moving, and to be completely honest one of the promoters was head and shoulders above the other. Now you throw these guys in the mix with the people they have assembled how could you not be excited. This is a golden oppurtunity for all the boxers out there.

Clarence put it best Tony is not content with being just better he wants to be the best and humiliate competition in every aspect from the ring card girls to the atmosphere to the fights themselves. I don't believe they just woke up last week and said they wanted to promote this has been in motion for a while and done methodically.

Finally put all your feelings aside for a minute I know your hating now sitting in your moms basement stewing mad cause power moves are being made. However there will be many fighters, trainers, managers, and fans who will all benefit from this.

I wish all beltway boxers the best and want to see all of them succeed and we just took another to putting the beltway back on the map!!!!!!

To the morons who posted the disparaging comments and crucified the english language--shame on you----you probably failed 9th grade and have a glass jaw(if you actually fight) Anyone who gets in the ring has balls. Period. Tony has one KO loss, and a decision loss from a good fighter. Not bad. Good job tonight Tony---the event was a success.

The negative commentary from the olowns with big mouths--clearly demonstrate your IQ. If you could fight with your lips---you would be undefeated.

See you at Club One
