Holly Loses in Brooklyn; Samuel, Orji Off Philadelphia Card!

DC junior welterweight Reggie "The Mechanic" Holly lost by a four-round unanimous decision to Stephane Malenou last night at the Aviator Sports Arena in Brooklyn, NY. Holly's record is now 7-4, two KO's while Malenou evens his record at 5-5-1.

By the way, the two co-feature bouts on this card as well as one exciting swing bout were on ESPN2 and the matchmaker of the card was our very own Chris Middendorf. ESPN2 analyst Teddy Atlas took a moment during the telecast to praise Middendorf for the competitive bouts.

As we move to Friday, June 6 in Philadelphia, it looks like Baltimore featherweight Tyrell Samuel and Laurel, MD super featherweight Ikem Orji are both of this card. Boxrec.com has taken both their names off the card at the Blue Horizon.

Digital,

I thought Ishmail was supposed to fight last night? What happened to Tyrell. I pray that his health is well.

Peace,
Philly G

According to what I've heard, Ishmail was told about the date of the bout too late for him to get sufficiently ready for the bout.

Tyrell still has issues with his EKG. I personally can't believe that the promoters for the card had him still available for the card, knowing what we already knew.
