Robles Scratched from October 6 Benefit Card!

Waynesboro, VA cruiserweight "JC Superstar" Juan Carlos Robles will not be appearing on the Saturday, October 6 benefit card at the Hilton McLean Tyson's Corner.

Robles, who was scheduled to make his first in-ring appearance since suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident, hurt his foot in a freak accident, stepping down wrong off of a curb. Robles was slated to take on Portsmouth VA's William "The Storm" Bailey on the October 6 card.

Matchmaker Joe Hensley plans to put another bout on this card. The rest of the card (listed in an earlier post) remains intact.

Thats a tough break,I guess Juan will not cut off his foot so he can make this card. All kidding aside Joe Hensley will be able to put this card back together.

Man, poor guy just can't catch a break!

BS!

This guy was going to get beat so they pulled a fake injury.

This guy would fight whether he thought he would win or lose.He does not quit and is not afraid.

Hell, maybe I'll step in and fight Bailey in a rematch. I need to stay busy.

That would be the day Ding.. You would be too nervous that you might get hurt and lose your big shot. So don't even suggest it. You are going to get beat when you step up next anyway!

Thats what they all said about my last fight. LOL

Juan's legitimately hurt. He'll be wearing a soft cast and will be able to resume training in a month or so.

So Joe, what's the deal with Bailey? Is he a go, and who?

Sorry Linda. I know Bailey is one of your favorites but he won't be on the show. But, as William Bailey's Manager - Reggie Barnette and I have discussed, a fight between Juan Robles and William Bailey is inevitable and will probably happen this year. It's a fight that is good for both guys and good for boxing in the area. Throw out William Bailey's record, he is a good fighter and a dangerous fight for any of the cruiserweights in the region.

Hey Joe, it's Darnell. I will step in and fight Bailey. He will have an opportunity to upset a ring magazine top ten fighter and avenge his loss to me way earlier in our careers. He is on a roll. I cannot get another top ten fighter in the ring to save my life. I'm sure we can work something out.

To the other guy, I can't respect your negative comments if you can't state who you really are. I do have an idea however, LOL. Don't matter really. I'm one of the few fighters who chases the toughest challenges, but there will always be ones like you saying how I will get beat everytime and I love it. I was supposed to killed the last time I fought, remember. ;D

Hey, Darnell. You are a true warrior and you have proven that you will fight anyone in the world. Remember those fights I tried to make for you in the past and you always agreed to the fight but it was always the other guy who didn't come through? (We'll leave those guys nameless). Since Robles was injured we decided that what made the most sense for this show was to replace the fight completely as opposed to getting a fill in for Robles to fight Bailey. Don't get discouraged, I'm sure Duva or Sal can get you someone soon. By the way, we expect to have the new bout for our October 6th show made very shortly.

Darnell,

Glad to see you weigh in here. First let me say you have provided fight fans an awesome year of action. You are a throwback warrior and I am certain it is only a matter of time until you get your just rewards. Your last ko is a youtube legend! As for the naysayers, their head is still spinning from your exocist like lefthook against Nwondo.

That said, why would you even think about fighting Bailey again? First you drilled him when he was much younger. Guy is on a roll? He is 37 and never beaten anyone close to your caliber. If you want an area fighter how bout Corey Cummings?

Train hard and best of luck. You make true area fans proud!
