If you listen to Sportstalk 980, you know that Rick "Doc" Walker has a section called "Baller of the Week" where they highlight top performances and ask fans to vote on the best performance.
This week, one of the nominees is indeed, US Olympic Boxer Gary Russell, Jr. His competition for the award consists of:
Brandon Carker (who hit the game-winning home run in the Little League World Series)
Tyson Gay (who won the 100 meters in the IAAF World Track and Field Championships)
Carmelo Anthony (who is playing great basketball for the US at the Tournament of the Americas)
Mike Mussina (who may be done as a legitimate starter for the New York Yankees)
