Beltway Boxers Make the Media Rounds!

Make sure that you pick up a copy of today's Washington Post to see the solid article on DC's own Tony "The Tiger" Thompson written by John Scheinman.

As Scheinman alluded to in his article, the Thompson-Eliser Castillo bout slated on May 25 may not be a done deal after all. Hopefully, I will have some definite answers to that later today.

Meanwhile, Great Falls, VA junior middleweight Jimmy Lange is on the media blitz promoting his May 12 rematch against Fontaine Cabell at the George Mason University Patriot Center. Earlier today, Lange appeared on the "Elliot in the Morning" show on DC101. Lange will appear on the "Doc Walker Show" on Sportstalk 980 at 10:10 today and he will join legendary trainer Angelo Dundee on "Sports Talk with Glenn Harris" tonight at 8 PM on News Channel 8.

Tomorrow, Lange and Dundee will appear on Comcast SportsNet "Washington Post Live" at 5 PM.

The weigh-in for the May 12 bout will be held on Friday, May 11 at Champps Restaurant in the Fair Oaks Shopping Center in Fairfax, VA. The event starts at noon and is open to the public.

Why is it that Glenn Harris will have Jimmy Lange on his show but refuses to talk to Tony Thompson? Glenn if you read this blog please respond?

Interesting article about Tony. He was relatively old when he started!

P.S. When's your preview for the Patriot Center card (not being pushy, just wondering...)?
