Former IBF Featherweight champion Eric "Mighty Mouse" Aiken has found himself in a VERY weird situation.
Early yesterday, Fightnews.com reported that the native of Forestville, MD would take on Cruz Carvajal instead of former IBF champ Valdemir Pereira tonight in Salem, NH on ESPN2.
Now comes word from Fightnews that Carvajal AND Pereira weighed in along with Aiken yesterday. Banner Promotions President Art Pelullo told Fightnews that Pereira took his medical exams but there are some questions. If Pereira is okay, than he will take on Aiken in an IBF elimination match. If Pereira is not okay, than Carvajal will step in and the bout will then become a 10-round, non-title eliminator bout.
By the way, all three boxers weighed in at the featherweight limit of 126. We should know sometime this afternoon who Aiken's opponent will be.
