New Poll: Who is the Beltway Boxer of the Half-Year?

I can now release the latest poll question. With the year halfway through, who do you think is the Beltway Boxer of the Year so far? You can pick one of the boxers listed or you can give me another selection. Please make comments also. I want to read your thoughts!

I picked Aiken-he won a national title IIRC, while Nwodo, despite his dominating title win, won a not-as-big title.

Oh, and granted, it was only a DQ win, but (someone who's seen the bout please correct me if I'm wrong) it seems like Aiken was winning anyway, and his opponent just got frustrated.

Nothing against Poo, In Fact, I beat him twice in the amatures.
However, he aint did nothing compared to the heavy weight you guys got Tony Thompson, I hear Tony has never ducked anyone and completely destroyed Dominic Guinn.
I just looked up Poo Poo record and he has never once fought anyone with a winning record. He even fought a guy with a 1 and 11 record. He fought him twice. I have not fought since March and have not even been in the gym, but I can still whip Poo Poo on my worst day. Again I like Poo Poo but he aint no Tony Thompson. I hear that he is already looking for an excuse to get out of this tournament. I bet him comes up with something like his ankle hurts or he he hurt his hand. You watch and see, I know this Poo Poo very well. We shared a room in The amatures, the Poo Poo elevater does not reach the top floor. He needs adrian Davis back. I wish adrian did not kick him out of the gym. They did work well together. Poo Poo now trains at Nomis I hear.
I guess Ham is helping him. WOW!!!

i seen both of your fights with poo and i personally think u lost the second one. poo is not done what tony thompson has done but give poo a chance, he might make something. i also seen you fight at sugar rays in 2003, u looked ok but u did lose to the guy from va.

Bruce Mig
U are an idiot
anybody that knows anything about Poo knows he trains at Srl gym
Matter fact he has been trying there over a year now.
So get your facts straight
damn why are u bashing the man
are jealous because u have been sitting on the shelf since march and didn't get the chance to fight on shotime.
Maybe if u was in the gym chris might have called u to get in the tournment . A real fighter stays in the gym 24-7

I think the peterson brothers had a good year so far

I think all of you are crazy. first of all I seen Poo in the mornings over at SRL gym, but I have also seen him sparring over at Nomis gym in the evenings. Looks like you too do not what you are talking about. Perhaps it is you who needs to get your facts right. In Your Face Fool!!!!

Tony Thompson is the best that you guys fronm DC has right now. And I must admit it-he is the real deal... Never ducks anyone, they duck him though.

Eric Aiken is my pick based on the fact that he is the only one that has actually won a belt. I would also like to congratulate the other candidates, all of whom have had great years. DC is back ladies and gentlemen. Believe it!!! PS. I read somewhere that Poo's hand is not broken.

M.C. Slammer

Well Poo trains out of Srl gym
he may spar in other gyms
but his home gym is Srl
If you read the Landover gazette last week it will settle where poo trains or u can listen to his interview with gary . Every body knows mr. hinton trains poo

My pick for fighter of the year so far is eric aiken
followed by
2. Tony thompson
3. Peterson brothers
4. Sugar poo

Paul Williams-best in the entire world.
Tony Thompson-second best in area
Mighty Mouse-biggest surprise
Lamont Pearson-Keystones best
Sugar Poo - An absolute Joke
Lamont&Anthony Peterson-Not Proven yet. they need a real fighter in front of them.
Mike sawyer-cant fight his way out of a paper bag
Reggie Holly-Missing in action
Thomas KO Snow-whips anyone his size in the Dc area-amature or pro and he is always in great shape.
Paul Williams is the best damn 147 pounder in the world.

U R RIGHT- PAUL THE PUNISHER WILLIAMS

skinnyscott-Nwodo also won a belt, didn't he?

I picked Mouse, as for so far this year. He won the IBF title, one of the most recognized belts. If he can pull off a win against the ghost, he could get fighter of the year, but that's a big tast. He definitley is the biggest suprise winning the IBF title.
What about Hasim Rahman? If he beats Oleg, then he is in the running.
And Tony Thompson's last fight puts him in the mix, he needs another fight this year though. And he is from Sliver Springs, not DC.

Mouse won the IBF belt with A.D. What more is there to say? Wake up all you boxing intellectuals.

Again what about "Rock"? He defended his WBA title again James Toney, and was clearly robbed of a victory, and is now fighting Oleg (A top rank fighter). If Rock beats him then he should be the Beltway fighter of the year.

Rahman has a had a good year
he clearly beat tony
and i don't see how them blind judges called it a draw
so he is my pick for the half way fighter of the year

Tony tiger.
Raised in DC. currently lives if fort washington. Is the best. Pratically no amateur experience...I think 14 amateur fights and throws himself in the mix. The only layoff came when no one would choose him as an opponent. He did not start until 28. And he has two belts and the maryland state belt. 3 all together this year.

I wonder why the Peterson Brothers
get no credit
I think they done had a good year so far

Its really a shame to see yawl hating on Poo this way.
You can hate the man or like the man but u still should respect the man for getting in the ring and winning the fight . Half of the fighters here won't ever win a title or fight on shotime , Hbo Nor Pay-Per-view.
Its so much hate here!!!
I didn't see none yawl hate on Mouse when he won the title but alot of yawl didn't really get down with mouse at first but so many of yawl praising him now . He needs to be praised for his hard work asnd not letting yawl fools detour him from his dreams of winning a title

1,000 down Poo does not win this thing and actually gets Koed.

Pound for pound, Sugar Poo, by far, has the most potential as a professional fighter. With his youthful spark and heart of a Shaolin warrior he will be the guy to push the boxing sport to the next level in the DC area. I personally would like to see a weight adjustment then a fight with Shamba Mitchell. Poo is constantly developing his skills and is a borderline prodogy in the sport.
